Why participate in the 2017 Walk ‘n Roll? : Amy & I are walking in DogFest on 10-14-17 because we love dogs, and believe in Canine Companions for Independence and their mission to provide highly-trained (50 thousand dollar) assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge. Leading up to the event, we’re raising money to support Canine Companions. If you don't know this already, Canine Companions is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that does not receive government funding to keep their operation going. They exist to enhance the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs free of charge as well as ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. It costs $50,000.00 to train and place just one Canine Companion team. We're 27 percent of the way to our fundraising goal of $1000.00 and you can help us get to 100 percent by October 14th. How: There's 68 days left to make a one-time flat donation on Amy's page or join my team Porty’s Pals and begin collecting donations on line or in person prior to the event. Then Grab a leash and join us for DogFest Illinois, a family and pet friendly walk to benefit Canine Companions for Independence. The event will take place rain or shine. |
