This afternoon Amy and I went back to visit our friends at Wolf's Crossing Elementary School. We were invited back because the students and staff raised $775 in a month long Change for Change fundraiser to Benefit Canine Companions for Independence. Amy and I were asked to give a 10-minute demonstration of my skills so the students could see what $50,000 (in dog) could do to change the life of a person with a disability. I was so nervous and excited I was panting and could feel the pads of my feet starting to glisten. I had trouble getting the credit card Amy dropped, up off the floor. The kids thought it was funny and they cheered when I was successful! J I also didn't want to stop tugging the laundry basket when she said to, but I was having fun. We also showed how I could pick up dropped car keys and a piece of paper without putting holes in it. | Wolf's Crossing, we're proud to call you our friends! Thank you for your continued support of us and Canine Companions Here are some ways they may choose to use the money you raised: $500 pays for transporting puppies to puppy raisers across the country $200 pays for healthy puppy costs for a pup’s annual check-up $150 pays for a health screening for a dog entering training $50 pays for two assistance dogs’ (blue) vests |
